So for Nemesis i was told to research into the use of Quadrants, this concept allows you to tell a number of stories and emotions in one shot. It is certainly something of an artistic accomplishment and i am interested to see how Brad would like to have this utilized in his film. The link i was given is listed below and gives you a brief outlook on exactly how this technique is used in the film "Drive" Starring Ryan Gosling. I think this technique is definitely a good idea as it is something that will stand out against the rest, not that this is a competition but it will certainly add variety to the films that will be presented at the end of the module.

With good direction on the visual aesthetic brad is searching for i reckon that these forms of shots will most definitely be achievable. Clearly from here the next thing to take into account is practice and testing in which i will have to focus on trying to capture this technique and pin it down so that is prominent in the film itself. In the next few days there should be a session with our group in which i will be able to practice these techniques. I know that casting is the next task in front of each group, i have listed myself to help with the recording of the auditions that will be shot down in Newcastle. I know that some of the auditions will be held via Skype as well as some of the tapes that the level 5-6's have stored for available actors.

Hey Presto: Animation Inspiration
So now starting with the research for Hey Presto i looked at videos that i found inspiring ad that stood out to me that use a number of different uses of animation. One video is linked below with a hyper-link, its a video that uses a number of Kinetic Typography and 2D animation & stop motion, i really enjoy this video i found it a while back and it hit me quite intensely i thought it would be a perfect representation of what you can achieve with animation and the emotion it can create.

After i found this i showed Janice the clip above in which she added it to the VLE under my name, its something i think represents something that anybody can relate to, after i used this i started to look at some of the animation that was not showcased in the above video. One of these was Pixilation, the video below is an example of how you an use this form of animation and the type of aesthetic it can add to a live action film.

I think that the video above is incredible in the way they were able to produce such a big world in just one room. I enjoy the animation itself and the use of the objects to personify the world around us as well as represent the journeys in which we take in our dreams.

The link above is some Pixilation animation that i helped in at CCAD green lane which involves two of my friends as magicians that pull off some interesting illusions through the power of animation. (note that this link may be broken as it is a closed group, i am trying to find the original video itself and upload it individually, but for now this will be here.)

Nemesis Introduction
The other group that i will be assisting with is a group that is lead by Brad who is the screenwriter and director of the following piece, Myself as Camera-Op, Conner Welsh as Sound-Op, Ethan Turley as Editor and finally Yoanouis as Producer. This is a fairly new experience for me as i have not worked with any of the above before excluding Ethan. I am interested to see what we can accomplish with Brad's script as i found the piece to be intelligently wrote. The concept itself is something of a higher standard with a good with a nice heartfelt plot that is accessible for a variety of people to finish what a loved one started. The use of science and astronomy to back up the plot also gives the story itself more depth which i am looking forward to seeing how the casting goes for this film as the lines at times could be somewhat difficult in execution.
As the camera-op for this piece i would like to use some of my other skills involving sketches and other forms of illustration to back up my work as camera-op, i am yet to speak to brad about this but i will hopefully be able to put these to use. I have already been assigned some research involving a technique that i will have to look into using the camera, it involves the use of sectioning and breaking the shot into 2-4 compliant pieces that help tell separate stories inside of one shot. I like this idea and it would be something to get a grasp of to then be able to have under my belt to use in the future for any other forms of films.
So i now know my first task and i have been informed that the information i need is on the VLE ready which is great i feel as though this group will be extremely organized as will the rest but i am sure we will accomplish something quite special.

Hey Presto Introduction
As the start of the new module we have been assigned a new task which involves myself bringing up some of the techniques in multimedia that i have not used since my time at CCAD green lane. These techniques involve myself in charge of the animation for this piece of film. I am also the assigned Camera-op, starting firstly with Storyboards and research into the different varieties of animation then moving onto testing and applying these forms of media to the finished piece. One of the main questions that need to be asked at this moment of time is "What animation would be appropriate for this piece?". As well as "What would be practical & accomplish-able at this short amount of time?".
Some of the pieces of animation that i found easy enough to use and get control of are such varieties like "Cut-Out, Stop motion, Pixilation & 2D digital animation". I have practised with all of these forms animation and found them accessible, One of the only forms of animation i found difficulty with would have to be three dimensional digital animation, not only that but the time it would take to do this would be impractical.
As for the filming process I feel confident that this should not bite to much time into my animation process as i will need a certain amount of time with this. I have read the script and sat through a variety of the read through's. I have found no issues with the amount of scenes as the animation that is needed is minute in comparison to the filming itself. There may be some forms of difficulty with certain parts of the process for instance there is a scene that me and Janice have spoke about which involves a number of animated cockroaches to follow the sister up a pair of stairs, The difficulty here involves where the placement of the cockroaches would fit as i would probably need to film the scene first and then animate over the top but the number of cockroaches could be a problem but i will figure out a solution to this when the situation arises.
From here my research will be the main focus so i can piece together the jigsaw puzzle that is this multimedia film. I like the idea of the concept and was happy to put my self forward for this film, i am looking forward to what our group can achieve.
